Seth Handy counsels clients on energy environmental, real estate, and litigation matters. He assists three municipal collaboratives on energy planning and implementation, has helped close real estate and financing transactions and handles litigation matters including environmental and construction cases.

He practiced law at Edwards & Angell LLP from 1996 through 2005 where he was a member of the litigation and environmental practice groups. Seth represented individuals, companies and non-profits on environmental, energy, municipal, real estate and litigation matters. He has extensive litigation experience in Rhode Island and Massachusetts courts and counseled many agencies of the City of Warwick during the Chafee administration.

From 2005 to 2008, Seth was the Development Director of the Dynamo House project for Struever Bros. Eccles & Rouse, Inc., overseeing the renovation of the former Narragansett Electric power plant on the Providence River into a mixed-use office, hotel and retail development that will include the Heritage Harbor Museum.

Seth has written numerous articles on environmental, energy and litigation issues and clerked for Justice Ernest Gibson on the Vermont Supreme Court. He was a volunteer founder and President of the Pawtucket Armory Association, the non-profit that restored the historic Pawtucket Armory, turning it into a center for the arts and arts education. He is Co-Chair of the Rhode Island Bar Association's Environmental and Energy Law Committee. He serves on the Capital Center Commission and on the Boards of the Institute for the Study and Practice of Nonviolence and the Providence Preservation Society.

Seth graduated from Harvard College, cum laude in 1990, and has his JD and Master of Studies in Environmental Law from Vermont Law School (1996). He is admitted to practice in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. He and his wife Charlotte have 3 children and live in Providence.
